THE SPICE SUITE & BLACK + FORTH

Anyone who knows me knows that I'm a sucker for Black Excellence. What does Black Excellence look like? It looks like Angel Gregorio, owner of The Spice Suite. The Spice Suite is the culminating vision of owner Angel Gregorio's love of good food and people. Angel mixes spices and herbs to create a couture of blends and spice ensembles that inspire chefs and home cooks alike, to stay true to the motto "food is fashion."

On January 13th, Washington D.C. celebrated the first ever Black Female owned strip mall with a ribbon cutting, owned and operated by Angel Gregorio. Hundreds of people were in attendance. The Spice Suite has developed a community between black female business owners, vendors, and patrons, generating a back-and-forth in communication and commerce between Angel and other creatives, hence the inspiration behind, Black + Forth.

Angel is the first recipient, and the first Black woman, of the Commercial Property Acquisition Fund in Washington, D. C. She was able to bring to light the inequity and injustice found in commercial real estate ownership to the office of Planning and Economic Development. They heard her concerns and developed a fund that would create affordable commercial space as well as economic empowerment in Washington, D. C. Come thru Angel!

Make sure you visit The Spice Suite at Black + Forth.
