LETS GET READY RUMBLE!!!

Updated: Dec 13, 2020

Two ladies dominating the Hip Hop and R&B music scene in the early 2000s, Ashanti and Keyshia Cole, finally are jumping in the ring tonight at 8 pm EST for VERZUZ.

Coming from the left corner is Hip Hop and R&B's Princess, singer, songwriter Ashanti, hailing from Glen Cove, NY. She has 6 albums under her belt, 7 top 40 hits with singles such as "Foolish," Happy," "Baby," "Rock A With You," and "Rain On Me." Fans took notice when Ashanti appeared on several features such as, "Always On Time," by Ja Rule and "What's Luv," by Fat Joe. Fans recognized a striking similarity in Ashanti's voice and the vocals found in Jennifer Lopez's, "Aint It Funny," and "I'm Real," created in 2001, which questioned Lopez's authenticity. Nevertheless, since that time, Ashanti went on to continue great music of her own and giving us a highly anticipated VERZUZ.

Coming from the right corner is Hip Hop and R&B's Street Sensation Keyshia Cole from Oakland, CA. She has 7 albums under her belt, 5 top 40 hits with singles such as "I Changed My Mind," "(I Just Want It) To Be Over," "I Should Have Cheated," "Love", and "Let It Go." After working with Producer Kanye West, Keyshia Cole dropped "I Changed My Mind," and it instantly became the street anthem for females across the world. Cole went on to be featured on hits such as, "Give It Up To Me," by Sean Paul and "Last Night," by Diddy. Once Keyshia Cole's life story became public, BET took interest and Cole gave birth to the hit reality show Keyshia Cole: The Way It Is. From there has been nothing, but success.

TONIGHTS VERZUZ HAS BEEN POSTPONED! Ashanti is reported to have contracted COVID 19. The VERZUZ Battle has been rescheduled to January 9th. We are keeping Ashanti in our prayers and hoping for a speedy recovery.

Both artists have hits, but who do you think will win VERZUZ and what songs are you hoping to hear?
